It’s the end of February, Nebraska FCCLA! Can you believe it? District competitions are over and it’s time to start preparing for the State Leadership Conference! Speaking of State, there are a lot of exciting new things happening! This blog will give you a little preview of our upcoming conference! First and foremost, STAR event competitions will be happening on Monday, April 8th at the Pinnacle Bank Arena! It’s time to showcase our members’ amazing projects and compete toward the ultimate goal of attending the National FCCLA Conference in Anaheim, California. We know Nebraska will be represented well because our members work so hard each and every year! However, before we can think about nationals, we need to think about STATE! Our officer team has been diligently planning new and exciting activities and presenters for you! Throughout the conference, a new challenge for chapters to participate in is our very own “FCCL-Abe” scavenger hunt! This hunt will give you the opportunity to explore downtown Lincoln and compete for a chance to win FCCLA swag! You can find more details about the scavenger hunt in your state registration packet.
On Monday if you’re not competing in a STAR event, FCCLA serves and tours are open to members! We are still looking for volunteers to serve at the Child Advocacy Center! As for tours, there are a few you definitely don’t want to miss. The Lied Center, Hudl Headquarters, and Memorial Stadium would be at the top of my list if I had time to tour at SLC! Also on Monday, the opportunity fair will be set up at the PBA and there will be many noteworthy presenters doing breakout sessions throughout the day. It’s safe to say there are a plethora of exciting things planned for members at our upcoming State Leadership Conference! I can’t wait to see you all in Lincoln!
